Making a Poker Pupil

Making a Poker Pupil

poker pupil

A poker pupil is a player who, for one  agen poker reason or another, chooses to leave the action to a professional poker player. Instead of watching the action, they learn the rules by watching other players do it. This practice will give you an edge over your competition. Here are some of the benefits of having a poker pupil in your poker room.
Winning can be achieved by simply winning more chips than your opponents at the poker table, especially in the early rounds of a tournament. Although it is most often assumed that the most skilled players win most of the games, this isn't always the case. When a novice player beats a great player in the early rounds of a tournament, he has probably learned something about the game. He learned that the best way to win is to have enough chips to get him to the final table and to make that trip with confidence.
Having a teacher in your room can greatly improve your chances of winning at the tables. Poker pupils can look at other players and pick up on their tendencies, tricks, and strategies, which can really help you in your search for the next big hand. But you also need to watch the moves that you're making and make sure that you're not acting too slowly or even holding back from doing something. Just being cautious isn't enough to keep you from losing.
A poker pupil can teach you a lot about the poker room, both good and bad habits. At the very least, your teacher can help you avoid common mistakes. For example, many players love to call the flop, which is usually the most likely chance for them to make a big hand. A pupil watching you closely can tell you that this is a bad move and to be careful when betting.
The biggest mistake that you can make is to bet in the hope that the pot will increase. That way, you can just bluff all the way to the river with a very large stack. This is rarely the correct thing to do. Sometimes, you have to wait until your hand is truly strong enough to win you the hand.
There is a sure-fire way to get a Pupil's attention. Every time you see a hand of cards, make sure you show it to your teacher. That way, he'll have an idea of what kind of hand you're playing. You should try to hide your cards so that he has to look hard for the cards.
Another way to make a good poker pupil is to have a solid hand, but not so much that you lose the game before it gets started. Your pupil will see that you have strong hands, but he'll know that you can't hold them for long. He'll know that a poker pupil only wants to make money, not lose it.

As your pupil becomes more skilled, he'll become more of a challenge. He'll need to work harder than you to win his first big tournament, but if he works at being a better poker player, he'll become a worthy pupil.
